After yesterdays post on
how to make more money, I thought I’d give you a similar list on how to cut your expenses.
Cutting your expenses is another vital thing to do to get control over a critical financial situation, whether you are already in debt, or there is just too much month left at the end of the money.
So here are, in no particular order, 20 ideas on what you can do to cut your expenses:
- Buy your groceries at a discount store
- Buy a car with lower maintenance and driving costs
- Drive at a lower speed to save gas
- Pack your own lunch for work
- Buy less premium coffee
- Don’t eat out
- Do your own cooking instead of buying convenience foods
- Use energy-saving lamps
- Look for energy saving home-appliances if you have to buy new ones
- walk or use your bike instead of driving whenever possible
- find cheaper insurances
- check if you really need all of your insurances
- Wait for sales or special offers if you can
- Use coupons wisely
- buy the cheapest alternative that just fits your needs
- don’t collect for the sake of collecting
- buy cheaper gifts that come from your heart
- Make your own gifts instead of buying them
- Set Budgets for different areas of expenses
- Think twice before you buy something - anything
